Meeri A Hellstén
Meeri Hellstén is Professor of International and Comparative Education at Stockholm University, where she shares her research and teaching on the Master Program in International and Comparative Education and Higher Education (T&L). She is the Scientific Leader of the ICER research group https://www.edu.su.se/english/research/research-groups/international-studies
Meeri has an international academic background having lectured in higher education for over two decades in Australia before arriving at a position in intercultural education at Södertörn University, where she was promoted to Professor in 2013.
Her research interests focus on the pedagogy associated with international teaching and learning. She has published two collections on the topic of internationalizing higher education and is particularly interested in professionalization among international scholars, and the ways in which it impacts on cross-cultural and transnational pedagogy, policy and practice. She has recently been partner in a large international research project investigating ethical internationalization in higher education (EIHE) under the leadership of Prof. Vanessa Andreotti funded by the Academy of Finland.
Meeri is active in several CIE research networks, offering her expertise to a number of journal editorial boards and she is immediate past Editor-in-Chief of the peer reviewed journal “Issues in Educational Research”.
During her career Meeri has supervised a number of PhD projects to completion and she lectures on both the doctoral research and professional development programs at Stockholm University.
