A view to a Tweet

We experimented with a design for a narrow-focus offshoot app that allowed swiping between full-screen views of one Tweet on each screen. The goal was to create a unique experience that offered a subset of popular and trending Tweets and an easier way to focus, read, and appreciate one Tweet at a time without the distraction of others above and below.

A head of its time

We offered only one possible action to take for each Tweet: favorite (now, a.k.a. “like”) to encourage that action and build up a collection of interests for new users that could be used for additional recommendations. The experiment never made it into full public view. But the concept of swiping between full-screen views of single objects was several years ahead of TikTok’s launch.
