The Purple Trees of Rixium - Shadowdark Dungeon

This is a location based dungeon adventure for levels 1-3. It tells the story of a wizard and his apprentice, that conjured an evil puppetry demon. Their lair still houses the wizard’s old creations, servants and wondrous items - all waiting to be discovered.

This layout is intended to help you run the dungeon as you go. Skim the backstory, choose a hook, pick any entrance and start playing!

INSPIRATION

This adventure draws inspiration from the Weird Tales magazines, yet no knowledge of them is required. They inspired most of the creatures, the wizard and his apprentice. There is a creature in a pit and the servants of the wizard are based on spider lumberjacks. The purple jungle is the heart of this adventure, as are a lot of themes from each cover (dryad, face in flames, red demon, a web etc.). The books themselves are even magic items to be found as ancient tomes. 

This was created as part of a Game Jam! It was my first Gamejam and I really wanted to embrace the learning aspect, which is why I set myself the goal to use Affinity Publisher for the first time. I have learned a lot, but still have a long way to go :)
