Indigofera zollingeriana is a shrubby legume that has been studied since 2009 at Department of An... more Indigofera zollingeriana is a shrubby legume that has been studied since 2009 at Department of Animal Science and Technology, Bogor Agricultural University. Observation of agronomical parameters was conducted to investigate forage regrowth patern, herbage production and cutting management. Some soil ecological parameters were also observed to recognize rhizo effect on chemical and biological soil properties. Evaluation of nutrinional parameters were conducted as well to investigate utilization of nutritional value of the legume. Agronomical study revealed I. zollingeriana is a branchy regrowing plant that showed appropriate harvesting time at 60 days, easy to grow with tea growing structure model, and produced about 6-10 ton DM ha -1 harvest -1 . Cultivation of I. zollingeriana significantly increased 20% of soil organic carbon, P-solubilizing bacteria colony, stablized soil-P and -N consentration and soil pH. This study was conducted to evaluate the fermentability and nutrient digestibility of concentrate... more This study was conducted to evaluate the fermentability and nutrient digestibility of concentrate feed containing Indigofera zollingeriana using in vitro technique. Randomized complete block design was used on 3 types of concentrate feed and 4 groups (replicates) of goat's rumen liquid. The concentrate feeds were R1, R2 and R3 containing I. zollingeriana at 0 (control), 20 and 40%, respectively. Variables observed were total gas production, in vitro dry matter digestibility (IVDMD), organic matter (IVDOM), and crude protein (IVDCP), volatile fatty acid (VFA) profiles and NH3 concentration. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). Results showed that there was no significant effect of R3 on IVDMD, IVDOM and IVDCP as compared to R1 and R2. The objectives of this research were to evaluate the effect of sipramin as liquid organic fertilizer on soil condition, re-growth, and herbage productivity of Indigofera sp. For ruminants. This experiment used factorial completely randomized design; the first factor was fertilizer dosages (0, 10, 20 and 40%) and the second factor was fertilization times (30 and 15 days before harvested [dbh]). The observed variables were soil chemical and biological characteristic, re-growth and forage production, and nutritive value of Indigofera sp. for ruminants. Randomized completely design were used to four types of rations. The 16 heads of ettawah gradebreed post-weaning goad kids (14-21 body weight) were maintained during 8 weeks. I. zollingeriana forage were formulated into R1, R2, R3, and R4 concentrate feeds with proportion 0, 20, 40, and 60% I. zollingeriana, respectively.
