On July 17th EA FC released the first reveal trailer for FC 25. The trailer has a huge focus on the Real Madrid and England player Jude Bellingham, who is also the cover star of this year's edition together with Aitana Bonmatí, David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane and Gianluigi Buffon.
Aside from this, EA Sports FC 25 promises a lot of cool new features. For example Rush, a completely new 5v5 experience that’s coming to Ultimate Team, Clubs and Kick-Off. The game also has a lot of improvements for the 11v11 mode, like more strategic control driven by real-world data.
We’ll tell you all about the new improvements, features and more!
Alongside the reveal trailer, EA announced the release date for FC 25. The game will be released on Friday, September 27. Players who pre-order the Ultimate Edition can start playing on September 20 with one week of early access. The Web App for EA FC 25 is set to release on September 18, with the companion app for iOS and Android releasing one day later on September 19.
EA Sports FC 25 is available for pre-order now! You can get the standard or ultimate edition for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, PC and Switch.
If you pre-order the Ultimate Edition before August 20th, you also get access to some exclusive perks. You’ll receive an untradeable Hero or ICON Player Item in FC 24 Ultimate Team from the Greats of the Game campaign and an untradeable Hero Player Item in FC 25 Ultimate Team, with an upgraded 'Prime' version arriving in November.
A new edition of EA FC, means new features. FC 25 has some awesome improvements that we’re eager to try out. A new 5v5 match type, technical improvements, and more options in Career Mode. What are you most excited for?
Meet 5v5 Rush, a new way to play with friends and strangers in Football Ultimate Team, Clubs, and Kick-Off. In this mode, you can play with real life teams and players. Kick off a match with 5 players of Real Madrid against 5 of Bayern Munich for example.
In FC 25, EA will introduce Live Start Points in Career Mode. This means you can start up this game mode any time in the season and real-life injuries, goals, points, transfers and more will be reflected in the game. Live Start Points will be available after release as a post-launch update.
Aside from this update, Women's football and Icons will be available for the first time in Career Mode. That means you can play as David Beckham, Thierry Henry, Brazilian Ronaldo and a number of other stars, as well as women’s players from six of the big competitions that are licensed.
Thanks to overall technical improvements to the game foundation, EA FC 25 brings more strategic control and a more realistic experience. FC IQ also uses a new AI model that takes information from real-world data to improve players’ overall tactics and performance. With 19,000+ players across 700+ teams in more than 120 stadiums and over 30 leagues, there’s enough to enjoy in this new edition!
Aside from the confirmed gameplay updates and features, there are still some rumours floating around. Maybe these features will be released in a later stadium, close to the game's release date.
According to DetectiveFut, EA FC 25 will also have a new management system. You can play as your favourite manager, and every manager has pre-set skills and tactics. Choose Guardiola’s Tiki-taka or Mourinho’s park-the-bus tactics for example!
TheFutPolice also revealed that the Ultimate Team Pack animations from FIFA 21, where doors open, and you’re transported through a tunnel, are making a comeback. The account also alleges that this feature will be more customizable than ever before. If the rumours are true, you can put your favourite players at the front post, back post, penalty spot and at the edge of the box.
Samuel Rivera, the executive producer of the FIFA franchise, talked about including a VAR in the games last year: “Of course, we would like to have VAR. This is simply what I say, and it is a very direct answer: as a video game, we know from the beginning if it was a foul or if it was not a foul; whether it was out of place or not it was out of place. So, until now, we have had other features that we have preferred to invest in than VAR. But of course, it’s still there, and it’s something that you will definitely see at some point”, he revealed to 3D Juegos Latam.
SizePlaystation leaked the EA FC 25 logo on X. The new football game will have a bright green text and logo against a black background. The leak was somewhat right, as in the promotional material for EA FC 25 they use the same version of the logo, but in white. In the trailer, they do use the same green colour for the text and other stuff.
Jude Bellingham is the cover star of EA FC 25. The Real Madrid and England star is the youngest player to appear on the EA FC cover to date. The picture of Bellingham doing his iconic Belligol celebration, after scoring the stoppage time winner in front of his home crowd at the Bernabéu, was used as the inspiration for the cover of EA FC 25 Standard Edition.
For the cover of EA FC 25 Ultimate Edition, EA brought some of the biggest names in football together. We can see Bellingham, Aitana Bonmatí, David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane and Gianluigi Buffon posing next to Ballon d'Or Féminin as well as 17 of the world’s most coveted football trophies.
EA Sports FC 25 will have two editions: The Standard Edition and The Ultimate Edition. Standard will be available for €69.99 / $69.99 / £59.99 and the Ultimate Edition for €99.99 / $99.99 / £89.99. Check out all the differences below:

Two years ago, EA FC broke tides with the football association FIFA. Since then, FIFA has promised to keep releasing games under the FIFA name. Nothing has been officially revealed, but there are quite some rumours going around that FIFA 2K25 will be released this year. This is because 2K gained the rights to make games with the FIFA brand in May.
At the same time, Ronaldo is also working on his very own football game. It’s called UFL 25 and will be free to play. With so many new titles on the horizon, 2025 will definitely be a fun year for football game lovers!
