Michele Di Bello
I graduated in Classics at University of Pisa (Bachelor) in 2023 with an essay of reconstruction and translation of Euripides' now fragmentary 'Hypsipyle', written during a three-months Erasmus in Dresden (Technische Universität Dresden).
Since 2020 I'm student in the ordinary course of Letters and Philosophy (Ancient history and classical Philology) at Scuola Normale Superiore (Pisa).
My research interests are, above all, Greek tragedy, especially the fragmentary plays (preserved both by papyri and indirect tradition) and satyr drama; issues of dramaturgy and staging; reception studies (in particular the reception of Greek tragedy during the Renaissance and Renaissance tragedy); Greek lexicography and erudite tradition; interactions between fifth- and fourth-century BC vase painting and plays.
Supervisors: Prof.ssa Laura Carrara (Università di Pisa) and Jun.-Prof. Mario Baumann (Technische Universität Dresden)
