Joon-Min Gil is currently a professor at JNU (Jeju National University).

He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science from Korea University, Korea in 1994 and 1996, respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Korea University, Korea in 2000. From 2001 to 2002, he was a Visiting Research Associate in the Department of Computer Science at University of Illinois at Chicago, USA. From Oct. 2002 to Feb. 2006, he was a Senior Research Engineer in Supercomputing Center at KISTI (Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information), Korea. He is a professor at the Department of Computer Engineering, Jeju National University, Jeju, Korea. Before joining JNU in Sept. 2023, he was with Daegu Catholic University as a professor from Mar. 2006 to Aug. 2023.
