The author's initiation of learning the weaving techniques of the Puyuma tribe began in 2013, when the author wanted to weave a tribal garment for themselves. This article is a compilation of the author's recorded data over the past five years of learning. It starts with a general introduction to the Puyuma tribe, followed by an explanation of the etiquette of seeking and thanking mentors. The third part describes the legendary stories, taboos, tools, weaving techniques, apprenticeship, and interpretation of patterns in traditional Puyuma weaving. The fourth part involves a comprehensive analysis and organization of textile data from the traditional Puyuma tribal garments and accessories in the Institute of Ethnology's museum, aiming to establish a knowledge base for the study and apprenticeship of Puyuma textiles. Finally, recommendations are made for the inheritance, protection, and development of traditional Puyuma weaving. This article attempts to scientifically analyze the patterns in Puyuma tribal clothing and document the weaving techniques for each pattern. The goal is to systematically record the vanishing weaving techniques through organized diagrams, providing references for tribal members engaged in traditional garment reproduction. By rediscovering past memories and skills, the article aims to establish a context for cultural development and inheritance. Through recording the traditional weaving processes and techniques of the Puyuma tribe, it is hoped that future generations interested in this craft can gradually learn and continue the traditional weaving culture of the Puyuma tribe.
