Morley Safer (November 8, 1931 – May 19, 2016) was a Canadian-American reporter and correspondent for CBS News. He was best known for his long tenure on the newsmagazine 60 Minutes. He retired in May 2016, shortly before his death.[2]

Safer died at his home in Manhattan, New York City on May 19, 2016 from pneumonia, aged 84.[3]
