Sonny Chiba

Japanese actor and martial artist

Shinichi Chiba (千葉 真一, Chiba Shin'ichi, 23 January 1939 – 19 August 2021), also known as Sonny Chiba (サニー 千葉, Sanī Chiba), was a Japanese actor, singer, movie producer and director, and martial artist. He was from Fukuoka, Kyūshū. He was possibly the most famous Japanese movie actor of all time.[1][2][3][4][5]

Chiba died on 19 August 2021 at a hospital in Kimitsu, Japan from pneumonia caused by COVID-19, aged 82.[6]
