About the Senate

The University Faculty Senate is the legislative body representing University faculty that oversees all educational matters, including curriculum, student policies, admissions, and retention/graduation requirements. In addition, the Senate is recognized by the University as an advisory and consultative body to the President on all matters that may affect the attainment of the University’s educational objectives. The University Faculty Senate represents all faculty at Penn State through the process of shared governance. The Senate is comprised of faculty senators who are elected from each college and campus.
