Information

I am a professor, RNDr, PhD, teacher/researcher in the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences, Slovak University of Agriculture (SUA) in Nitra. I graduated from Comenius University in Bratislava, Faculty of Natural Sciences SUA in 1983 (RNDr). In 1988 I completed my PhD in the research area of general plant production, and in 2004 I became an assoc. professor in the field of environmental studies. In 2011 I became a professor in the field of processing of agricultural products. My research activity during the whole period in the Department of Chemistry FBFS SUA has been focused on research in the field of toxic behavior of risky elements in the soil–plant system, on verification of elimination options or minimizing of biotoxic elements transfer into agricultural crops and into food chain, as well as on chemoprotective components of selected crops with the aim to use them in production of foodstuffs, and on mutual relations of these biologically active components and risky elements in raw materials of plant origin. I focus on the factors influencing biologically valuable components of especially minor and recovered food plants with the aim of their utilization in functional food preparation. I am a Member of the Scientific Council of SUA, of the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Science of SUA, and others. https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7470-4500
