You are stranded with your truck along a dirt road, all alone, with a dead phone battery and only a few abandoned shacks nearby. Other villages or well-travelled roads are at least a 2 hour drive away, and the clock shows 2 PM. That might be enough time to repair the damn thing.
Or should you prepare to stay, which certainly isn’t possible in your car... That would suck though, since you did need to get home, now, didn’t you?

Along the Road is a solo journaling RPG focussed on survival and freedom vs loss, loosely based on Aaron Reed’s Interactive Fiction story Sand Dancer. It includes a custom system of using underlines to determine elements in the fiction which matter to your character story-wise and uses that to determine the number of dice rolled. Success and loss influences both the importance of elements and whether your person will and wants to attempt to travel back home.

So... Will you return home? Are you going to stay? Is your special one and their circumstances important enough? Or do you rather value your freedom and is it more than convenient to stay for the night? Let's play to find out!
