Once a shining star as a singing sensation, he's seen it all, done it all and got the t-shirt. Life has nothing left to offer him. He's had everything he thought he wanted, and still that hole deep within him stayed unfulfilled. He's walked around with it since his mother committed suicide when he was just a small boy. Heroin used to take the pain away, but nothing seems to work anymore. When no one he cares about turns up to his 'goodbye' party, he is even more convinced than ever that taking his life is the right move. But when he wakes up from dozing off, there is a pretty woman dancing for him on the stripper pole. Assuming this will be the last conversation he will ever have, it leads to the source of his pain early on and far from dissuading Harry from taking his life, the woman just listens to him moan on about poor Harry etc, until she reminds him that he's had his fun and maybe it's not all about him anymore, maybe his estranged daughter needs her father. He should know how devastating it is to grow up without a parent. Why is he just repeating this destructive pattern? Near the end, we realize that perhaps the woman is not just some stranger but the essence of his mother come to help him see life from a different perspective and stop his family repeating the same mistake generation after generation. But will he take her advice? Written by
