American history is many things, but it is most certainly a rhapsody, quilted together from many disjointed stories and yet somehow still managing to form a coherent whole. At the Briscoe Center, we gather those stories through our collections—the evidence of the past that we collect, preserve, and make available for use.
On each episode of American Rhapsody, we talk to the individuals who helped create that evidence, to the donors who preserved it, and to the researchers who use those collections in their work.
We keep the debates and arguments about who we are rooted in evidence. And we keep the American Rhapsody going.
