ACE/gr and Y2K

The development of ACE/gr is frozen. Please check out Grace, its descendant.

For true die-hards, there is an unofficial resurrection.

* Introduction

ACE/gr is a 2D plotting tool for X Window System. It uses an OSF Motif-based user interface, which is the reason why it's also known as Xmgr. ACE/gr runs on practically any version of Unix. It has been successfully ported to VMS, with the Win95/NT and OS/2 ports being in the alpha stage.

A major part of ACE/gr was written by Paul Turner who, unfortunately, does not have time to continue the development. Since the version 4.00beta, ACE/gr has being developed by a voluntary group of people.

A few of features of ACE/gr are:

* User defined scaling, tick marks, labels, symbols, line styles, colors.
* Batch mode for unattended plotting.
* Read and write parameters used during a session.
* Regressions, splines, running averages, DFT/FFT, cross/auto-correlation, ...
* Support for dynamic module loading.
* Hardcopy support for PostScript, HP-GL, FrameMaker and InterLeaf formats.

While ACE/gr has a convenient point-and-click interface, most parameter settings and operations are available through a command line interface.

Please refer to the ACE/gr User Guide for more detailed description.

* Getting software

For some platforms, prebuilt executables can be found ready.

* Suggestions and bug reports

Again, Xmgr is not being developed anymore. Therefore, there is no sense in sending us bug reports or suggestions for improvements. Please download Grace, the descendant of Xmgr, and see if the bug has been fixed there or the wish implemented.
