Description

List of steps to reproduce (step by step, including full links if applicable):

What happens?:

  • Not much, you can't find the link, unless it's been included as a template in the article (in this case: in the infobox and at the bottom of the page - but not all articles do that, and we should migrate to a built-in solution anyway).

What should have happened instead?:

  • There should have been a clear link to Commons built into the mobile interface

As "Switch to Mobile view" is explicitly listed as a step to reproduce, where does the non-mobile interface display the interwiki link to Commons while not being a template?

It's in the sidebar.

It's in the sidebar.

Where exactly? How is it called / what is the exact string to look for? Again, please provide clear steps which leave no room for interpretation. Thanks! :)

Sidebar in Vector looks like this here: F34894427 (old); F34894426 (new).

@Jdlrobson You seem to have closed the duplicate task as declined, which isn't acceptable - this needs to be fixed. Hence reopening.

We've already discussed this on T219392 on which you expressed a dislike to the proposal. This led to us declining the work. We have no plans to add it now that I'm aware of. Declined tasks can be reopened and worked on so I'm not sure why this is unacceptable. It reflects reality.

Mike_Peel triaged this task as High priority.

I can't comprehend how not linking to Commons on the mobile interface reflects reality - this is a fundamental problem that needs to be fixed. You can't just decline this without a solution.

Aklapper raised the priority of this task from High to Needs Triage.Dec 24 2021, 2:00 AM

Please do not reopen this ticket and do not prioritize if you don't plan to work on this yourself. See previous comments. Thanks.

@Aklapper @Jdlrobson I disagree with you, but will take this to a Community Wishlist proposal rather than following this up further now.

Couldn't see a way to reply to this without resubscribing Jdlrobson, removing with this edit.
