phpseclib was initially developed in 2007 with the initial goal of providing SSH2 / SFTP support to PHP applications on any server, any where. Designed to be ultra-compatible whilst being able to take advantages of faster extensions, if available, phpseclib has since added support for RSA and X509 certificates. If phpseclib has helped you this is your opportunity to give back. The 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 branches / versions have a stable API and dependencies. The master branch will eventually become 4.0 and has an API and dependencies that are subject to change from commit to commit.
