Abstract

 セラミックスからなる主成分材料に、成形助剤、添加材及び気孔形成材を含有する成形原料を混練し・調製された坏土を成形、乾燥してハニカム形状の成形体(ハニカム成形体)を作製し、作製されたハニカム成形体を仮焼成して仮焼体とした後に仮焼体を本焼成してハニカム焼成体を得るハニカム構造体の製造方法である。坏土もしくは成形体の引張り荷重測定を行った際、得られた引張り荷重と変位量との関係を示すグラフの変極点bと降伏点cを結ぶ直線の傾きθが、弾性変形を示す始点aと変極点bを結ぶ直線の傾きδの100%未満である。本発明のハニカム構造体の製造方法によれば、ハニカム成形時の欠陥生成を抑制し、歩留まりを向上させ、且つハニカム構造体の実使用時においても新たな欠陥が生成しにくく、耐久性に優れたハニカム構造体を製造することができる。
