Abstract
La presente invencion se refiere a metodos, sistemas y disenos para eliminar el mercurio de los crudos. El petroleo crudo se calienta a una temperatura arriba de 100°C y se mantiene a esta temperatura durante un periodo de tiempo especificado para convertir todas las formas de mercurio en el petroleo en la forma de mercurio elemental. El mercurio elemental luego se desorbe del petroleo crudo, por ejemplo, evaporando rapido el petroleo caliente y/o poniendolo en contacto con una fase gaseosa. Este proceso transfiere el mercurio elemental de la fase oleosa en la fase gaseosa.
