Claims (6)
- 배기 가스를 정화하기 위한 촉매 변환기를 구비한 엔진 배기 정화 장치에 있어서, 촉매 온도에 대한 배기 정화율의 급상승 특성을 기준 급상승 특성과 비교하여 촉매 변환기의 열화를 판별하는 촉매 진단 수단을 구비하여 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 엔진 배기 정화 장치.
- 배기 가스를 정화하기 위한 메인 촉매 변환기와, 활성화를 촉진하도록 설정된 보조 촉매 변환기를 구비한 엔진 배기 정화 장치에 있어서, 상기 보조 촉매 변환기의 촉매 온도에 대한 배기 정화율의 급상승 특성을 기준 급상승 특성과 비교하여 보조 촉매 변환기의 열화를 판별하는 촉매 진단 수단을 구비하여 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 엔진 배기 정화 장치.
- 메인 촉매 변환기의 전방단에 보조 촉매 변환기가 배치되고, 상기 보조 촉매 변환기는 활성화를 촉진하도록 설정된 조기 활성화 촉매 변환기와, 활성 후의 정화 효율을 확보하는 프리 촉매 변환기를 구성 요소로 하는 엔진 배기 정화 장치에 있어서, 상기 보조 촉매 변환기의 상류, 하류 중 적어도 하류측에 배기 센서가 배치되고, 또, 상기 보조 촉매 변환기의 온도를 검출 혹은 추정하는 수단과, 상기 보조 촉매 변환기의 온도 및 상기 배기 센서 데이타를 입력하여 촉매 온도에 대한 배기 정화율의 급상승 특성과, 급상승 특성 후의 정상 특성을 구하고, 상기 급상승 특성을 기준 급상승 특성과 비교하여 그 비교 결과의 특성 상의 어긋난 양이 소정량 이상인 경우에는 상기 조기 활성화 촉매 변환기가 열화한 것으로 특정하고, 상기 정상 특성이 소정량 이상 저하된 경우에는 상기 프리 촉매 변환기의 정상 특성이 열화된 것으로 판정하는 촉매 진단 수단을 구비하여 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 엔진 배기 정화 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 촉매 진단 수단은 (1) 진단 대상의 촉매 변환기의 촉매 온도에 대한 배기 정화율의 급상승 특성이 기준 급상승 특성보다도 고온측으로 소정량 이상 시프트한 경우, 또는, (2) 기준 급상승 특성의 대표점이 되는 촉매 온도(Tcato) 및 그 때의 기준 배기 정화율(C)을 특정하여 진단 대상의 촉매 변환기의 상기 대표 촉매 온도(Tcato)에 있어서의 배기 정화율(C')이 상기 배기 정화율에 반해 소정치 이상 낮아진 경우, 또는, (3) 진단 대상의 촉매 변환기의 온도에 대한 배기 정화율의 급상승 특성이 기준 급상승 특성의 구배θ에 비해 소정치 이상 낮아진 경우를 조건으로 교환이 필요한 촉매 열화를 판정하도록 설정한 것을 특징으로 하는 엔진 배기 정화 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 진단 대상의 촉매 변환기의 온도는 엔진에 흡입되는 흡입 공기량, 연료 공급량, 촉매 활성화를 촉진하는 촉매에 가해지는 전력 또는 에너지 중 어느 하나의 누계치, 엔진 시동으로부터의 경과 시간, 엔진의 회전수, 부하, 엔진 냉각수 온도 중 어느 하나를 기초로 하여 추정되도록 설정한 것을 특징으로 하는 엔진 배기 정화 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제5항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 촉매 열화가 판정되면 경보를 발하도록 설정한 것을 특징으로 하는 배기 정화 장치.※참고사항:최초출원 내용에 의하여 공개하는 것임.
