Claims (13)
- 공구 인서트(tool insert)를 위한 절단 에지(68; 30) 또는 포인트(70; 32)를 제공하는 초연삭재(superabrasive material)의 에지 영역(26)이 결합되는 중앙 금속 부분(62; 24)을 포함하는 공구 인서트를 제조하는 방법에 있어서,① 대향하는 각 측면상에 주요 표면(52, 54; 16, 18)을 구비하는 본체(50; 10)를 제공하는 단계로서, 각 주요 표면은 금속 영역 또는 영역들(66; 12)에 의해 분리되는 복수의 초연삭재의 스트립(64; 14)을 구비하고, 하나의 주요 표면(52)의 각 초연삭재 스트립(64)은 대향하는 다른 주요 표면(54)의 초연삭재 스트립(64)과 정합하거나 또는 각각의 초연삭재 스트립(14)은 하나의 주요 표면(16)으로부터 대향하는 다른 주요 표면(18)까지 연장되는, 상기 본체 제공 단계와,② 각각의 초연삭재 스트립(64; 14)에서 교차하는 적어도 2 세트의 평면을 따라 하나의 주요 표면(52; 16)으로부터 대향하는 다른 주요 표면(54; 18)까지 상기 본체(50; 10)를 분할하여 상기 공구 인서트를 제조하는 단계로서, 상기 적어도 2 세트의 평면중 적어도 1 세트의 평면이 각각의 초연삭재 스트립을 종방향으로 관통하고 있는, 상기 공구 인서트 제조 단계를 포함하며,상기 본체를 분할하여 다수의 공구 인서트를 제조하기 위한 분할 패턴이 제공되는공구 인서트 제조 방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 금속 영역(66; 12)은 초경 합금(cemented carbide), 철계 금속 및 고융점 금속을 포함하는 그룹에서 선택된 경질 금속인공구 인서트 제조 방법.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 초연삭재는 연삭재 콤팩트인공구 인서트 제조 방법.
- 제 3 항에 있어서,상기 연삭재 콤팩트는 PCD 또는 PCBN인공구 인서트 제조 방법.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 본체(50; 10)는 디스크 형상을 갖는공구 인서트 제조 방법.
- 제 5 항에 있어서,상기 디스크의 직경은 55mm 내지 125mm이며, 상기 디스크의 두께는 1.6mm 내지 30mm인공구 인서트 제조 방법.
- 제 5 항에 있어서,상기 디스크의 직경은 80mm 내지 100mm이며, 상기 디스크의 두께는 2mm 내지 10mm인공구 인서트 제조 방법.

- 제 12 항에 있어서,상기 초연삭재의 박층(116)은 대향하는 각 주요 표면(102, 104)상의 전체 둘레의 스캘럽형 에지 영역(114)에 결합되는공구 인서트.
