Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain the automation and instantaneousity of a collect call service by applying a collect call incoming when a pass word for collect call registered by each subscriber in advance and a pass word dialed by a caller are coincident with each other. CONSTITUTION:When the pass word number registration request of the collect call is set, the pass word number represented by dialing is received and the collect call incoming enable displays and the pass word number are registered to a location in a collect call control table corresponding to the relevant sub scriber respectively. When the collect call sending request is given, an opposite dial number and the pass word number are received. The pass word number of the subscriber corresponding to the received opposite dial number is read from the collect call control table, compared with the received pass word num ber and when the pass word numbers are coincident with each other as the result, a call tone is sent to the calling subscriber and the talking state is set. The talking charge during this operation is charged upon the incoming subscrib er and the processing is finished when the handset is hooked on by either one of the parties.

While the conventional collect call service function required an operator, the caller was also forced to wait while the operator waited for the called subscriber to allow the caller to receive the collect call. On the other hand, the system of the present invention is characterized in that by introducing a personal identification number, it is possible to automate and instantiate the cholera 1-call service.

In FIG. 3, operation begins at Sl by detecting a subscriber off-hook. First, in Sl, the dial tone is sent to the subscriber, and then in S2, the dial digits are sent to n (n
≧1) Digit number. n is the number of dial digits assigned to a special number indicating a collect call. In the following S3, the above-mentioned number is analyzed, and if the result indicates a collect call PIN registration request, a collect call registration sound indicating registration permission is sent in S4, and the PIN indicated by the dial operation is sent in S5. At the same time, at 56.87, a collect call reception permission display and a password are registered in the position corresponding to the subscriber in the collect call control table, and a collect call tone indicating completion of registration is sent out at S8.

On the other hand, if the result of the analysis in S3 indicates a collect call origination request, a collect call confirmation sound is sent in step <89, and a password is received together with the dialed number of the other party in step 810. Next, at step 811, the subscriber's password corresponding to the dialed number received above is read from the collect call control table, and compared with the password received at step S10. Thereafter, when the called subscriber goes off-hook, the call state is entered at 314. The call fee during this time is charged to the called subscriber, and the process ends when one of the two parties is detected to be on-hook in step 817. On the other hand, if the PIN numbers do not match in S11, a sound, for example a busy tone, is sent out in S15 to notify that the PIN numbers do not match. In this example, we have shown the case where the originating and terminating subscribers are accommodated in the same exchange, but even if they are accommodated in different exchanges, the originating exchange will display the incoming collect call display to the terminating exchange. This can be similarly achieved by sending the destination dial number and password; however, in this case, it is easier to implement by using a common line signaling system that facilitates signal transmission between exchanges. Furthermore, if the common channel signaling method is used, it is possible to charge the caller in the same way as a non-collect call, and to send charging information to the destination exchange together with a disconnection signal when the call ends.

(Effects of the Invention) According to the present invention, there is an effect that a collect call service that charges a called subscriber can be automatically performed without the intervention of an operator, and it is also possible to make a collect call connection instantaneous.

In an automatic telephone exchange system, there is a function to register a PIN number designated by the subscriber in this memory along with a memory that has the address corresponding to the subscriber, and a special number that the caller requests a collect roll when making a call. When the telephone number and PIN are dialed, a function is provided to confirm whether the PIN registered by the receiving subscriber matches the PIN number dialed by the calling party, and if both PINs match, a collect call is received. This is a collect call service method that is characterized by:
