Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the pressing of a wrong switch, by providing a transparent switch panel on the faceplate of a CRT and installing switches located in the panel and corresponding to selected items to be shown on the faceplate, to dispense with the confirmation of the coincidence of the selected item and the selected switch. CONSTITUTION:A manually operating section comprises the body 10 of a numerical controller, the faceplate 17 of a CRT, and a keyboard 18 for data input. Switches, which correspond in a one-to-one manner to selected items 21 to be shown on the faceplate 17, are provided in a transparent switch panel 22 bonded on a part of the faceplate. To operate the numerical controller 10, one of the selected items 21 on the faceplate 17 of the CRT is touched by a finger to easily choose the item. The selective operation of the switches is thus prompted and ensured to prevent an undesired function from being selected by mistaken pressing.
