Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform sound volume control not providing feeling of unpleasantness to rapid change in surrounding noise, by providing a logarithmic amplifying section logarithmically compressing a noise level detecting signal and a time constant circuit inputting an output of the amplifying section. CONSTITUTION:When a noise in a car is increased, an output of a microphone M is correspondingly increased. The output of the microphone M is amplified to a specified value at a microphone amplifying section MA and applied to an LPF. The LPF picks up noise signals not subjected to the effect of signal tone and human voice by picking up the low frequency component of the noise signal in accordance with the audible sense of human being. A noise level detection section DET detects the output of the LPF as a voltage signal corresponding to the average value. The output signal of the DET is logarithmically compressed and outputted at a logarithmic amplifying section LA. A time constant circuit TC gives a time constant to the output of the LA and transmits the output as a control signal Vc absorbing a rapid change in the noise detecting signal.
