Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize an optional color display in accordance with the luminance level of a picture signal, by controlling the phase of the color subcarrier wave through a delaying circuit and performing an optional pseudo color display to an optional white/black gradation level. CONSTITUTION:A picture signal A, i.e., an n-bit parallel BCD signal is supplied through a signal input terminal 1. Then the signal A of one side is supplied to a D/A converting circuit 8 via a buffer amplifier 13 and a delaying circuit 13. Thus the luminance signal G is delivered. The other side of the signal A is supplied to an ROM21. A pseudo color display is carried out by superposing color subcarrier waves having a specific differences of phase on the specific white/black gradation level and a color burst signal. A programmable delay module 22 is used to vary the phase of the color subcarrier wave.
