Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the unaggregating, noncrystallizing property, etc. of a pigment in a nonaqueous vehicle of an offset ink, gravure ink, coating material, etc. by mixing an aromatic compound having a specific structure, e.g. a colorless compound, in a pigment.
CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. Pigment is mixed with 0.3W30pts.wt. colorless to light- colored aromatic compound expressed by formula I [Q is group of aromatic polycycylic compound; A is direct bond, -O-, -NR'-, -S-, -CR'R"- (R' and R" are H, 1W20C alkyl or aryl), etc.; R1 and R2 are H, 1W20C alkyl or aryl or R1 and R2 togther may form a heterocyclic ring containing N, O or S; X and Y are R' or halogen, -OR', -NHCOR', etc.; l and m are integers 0W2; n is an integer 1W6; p is 1 or 2], e.g. compound of formulas II and III, and the resultant mixture is then dispersed in a nonaqueous vehicle.
EFFECT: Improved fluidity with low viscosity and without problems of segregation, cystallizing change, etc.
