Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the deviation in read position that occurs at the time of color reading of picture elements by titling plural filters differing in any of plate thickness, refractive index and incident angle of rays to the optical axis of a lens. CONSTITUTION:The color information of the picture element on an original 1 which is being conveyed in the direction B (subscanning direction) is passed through filters 7, 8, is imaged by a lens 5, and is read with an image pickup body 2. The filters 7, 8 mounted to a disc 6 which is installed with inclination toward the optical axis of the lens 5 are mutually equal in plate thickness and the incident angle of rays, but the refractive index of filter 7 is larger than that of the filter 8. The disk 6 is being turned by a motor 9, and while the filter 7 is in alignment to the optical axis of the lens 5, the information of the picture element at the point P passes through the optical path L2 and when the filter 8 is in alignment to the optical axis, the information of the picture element at the point Q arrives at the image pickup body 2. There is the statement of an example in which the plate thickness and the angles to incident light of the filters 7, 8 are differed from each other.
