式」と呼ぶ)では、対象毎に表示領域が予め設定されて
いるため、操作者は、すべての対象を画面上に見ること
ができ、対応する領域に文字カーソルやマウス等を移動
させることにより、所望の対象を選択することが可能で
ある。一方、互いに重なり合うことのできる領域が設定
可能な方式(以後、「画面重複方式」と呼ぶ)では、一
般に、編集者が任意の時点で、画面上の任意の位置に任
意の大きさの新たな領域を設定表示することができるよ
うになっており、複数の領域が完全に他の領域を隠して
しまうような設定も可能である。他の領域によって隠さ
れた領域の選択は、予め用意された画面優先度変更キー
を操作して順に領域を前面に表示させることを繰り返す
ことによって可能となっている。
