In a hermetic compressor in which a compression mechanism with variable capacity is enclosed in a hermetically sealed casing, and gas compressed by this compression mechanism is discharged from a discharge valve into the hermetically sealed casing, the discharge valve has a low capacity of the compression mechanism. A first reed piece that can be opened and closed to open the discharge port in only one direction during operation, a stopper that restricts the maximum opening degree of the first reed piece, and a stopper between the stopper and the first reed piece. A hermetic compressor characterized by having a second reed piece interposed therebetween and elastically supporting the first reed piece that opens when the compression mechanism is operated at high capacity.
