Abstract
Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a cigarette having a vent filter with dual filtering segments, scented by filter paper, and emitting smoke with a relatively low tar content, for example on the order of 1 mg or less.
In particular, the present invention has a tar content on the order of 0.5-1 mg and a resistance-to-draw (RTD) exceeding 65 mm water gauge (WG), and the tar content is considerably high. It relates to so-called “ultra-light” cigarettes that emit the main smoke with flavor characteristics that seem equivalent to high conventional tobacco. The suction resistance is preferably 90 mmH. G. It is a neighborhood.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In general, it is well known that proposals have already been made to produce tar-delivered cigarettes in the vicinity of 1 mg by adding to the tobacco mixture a flavoring substance aimed at enhancing the flavor of the smoke supplied. In order to obtain this type of delivery, it was necessary to use a filter with a high tar retention factor to provide a very high level of ventilation with a high suction resistance. However, this need for very high aeration levels does not allow the tar content to be reduced without changing the smoke flavor intensity, and therefore sooner than 1 mg tar delivery is acceptable to consumers. You won't get it. Furthermore, this method has the disadvantage of requiring the use of a substantial amount of flavor.
[0003]
From the viewpoint of eliminating the above disadvantages, it has been proposed to concentrate flavor substances on the filter. Thus, French Patent No. 2,368,905 and European Patent No. 0,225,742 propose using filter paper (made of microporous material) as a flavor medium. However, the solutions disclosed in these patents do not provide the required results, especially as a compromise between tar delivery, inhalation resistance and flavor.
[0004]
European Patent No. 0,101,173 describes a cigarette with a ventilation filter in which two segments are spaced apart from each other and which has an excellent transmission coefficient for a flavoring agent mixed into the cigarette. This solution also has the disadvantage of requiring a relatively large amount of flavor product.
[0005]
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The object of the present invention is to avoid the drawbacks of the known solutions while achieving the object.
[0006]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
Accordingly, the present invention provides a cigarette having the following components. That is, the cigarette of the present invention is
-Assembled into a tobacco segment by an assembly sleeve, has a ventilation area, has a low suction resistance filter segment on the mouth side and a high suction resistance segment on the tobacco side, and these segments are in close contact with each other by an assembly wrapper And a filter that is assembled
A thin porous wrapping paper that surrounds at least a portion of the filter disposed in the ventilation region and downstream of the ventilation region and carries a flavored object;
-An assembly wrapping paper and an assembly sleeve that are breathable in at least part of the area that does not contact the smoker's mouth;
Consists of.
[0007]
With such a configuration, as will be described later, when smoke enters the smoker's mouth, a path is created in the smoke by the flavored air (steady flavoring).
According to the present invention, good inhalation resistance and a substantially constant flavor with a very low tar release (<1 mg), for example comprised between 0.5 and 1 mg, regardless of the smoke flow inhaled by the smoker. It is important to note that the production of cigarettes with
[0008]
However, the present invention is not limited to the production of ultralight cigarettes with a tar release of less than 1 mg. The present invention is also applicable to the production of mild cigarettes with 3-5 mg tar release. In this case, the suction resistance and ventilation of the tobacco end segment must be adapted.
[0009]
[Preferred Embodiment]
Embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the corresponding accompanying drawings. In addition, the Example described below does not restrict | limit this invention.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the cigarette has a cylindrical tobacco segment T1 housed in a paper packet E1, a filter in which two segments T2 and T3 are in contact on the axis, and a filter segment T3 located on the mouth side. A scented thin wrapping paper G1, a wrapping paper G2 for assembling the two filter segments T2 and T3, and a sleeve M1 in which fine holes for attaching the filter to the tobacco segment T1 are formed.
[0010]
The tobacco segment T1 is composed of a mixture of tobacco and expanded tobacco (TE), and the expanded tobacco contains approximately 40% -100%. Segment T1 has a burn rate in the range of 7-10 mm per minute to release a standardized dose of 5-7, preferably 5.5-6 doses.
The paper wrapper E1 surrounding the cigarette is highly breathable and has pores in the range of 40-120, preferably 40-80 per, respectively for a release of 0.5-1 mg. The paper packet E1 is soaked with 1.5-3% sodium citrate and heavy (29-35% CaCO3).
[0011]
The filter segment T3 located on the mouth side may be cellulose acetate or, for example, 15-20 mmW. G. It is preferably made of an equivalent with a low suction resistance of the order of n and a negligible tar retention. However, this suction resistance is 30 mmW. G. Can be increased. The filter segment T2 located on the tobacco side is made of paper, for example 110-180 mmW. G. High inhalation resistance on the order of 5 (preferably 150 mm WG for 0.5 mg cigarettes and 130 mm WG for 1 mg cigarettes) and high tar retention . That is, tar retention is as low as 65% for 1 mg of cigarette, but preferably as high as over 80% for 0.5 mg of cigarette.
[0012]
The wrapping paper G1 is preferably made from a porous member (for example by photoengraving) in which a flavoring object has been added in advance inside the filter. This wrapping paper G1 consists of a thin porous wrapping paper such as a reference “Stiff 200” by “De Mauduit”, and is 0.4 to 1.1 g / m in the form of a solution or suspension. The flavoring mixture is soaked by photographic engraving at a rate of 2 . This porous wrapping paper G1 can also be made from other paper, vegetables, or synthetic porous objects having equivalent properties.
[0013]
The wrapping paper G2 for assembling the two filter segments T2 and T3 is of the same type as the wrapping paper G1. Wrapping paper G2 can also be soaked with the flavoring mixture.
Sleeve M1 is a porous assembly sleeve and provides a cigarette breathability on the order of 60-80%, preferably 72% for 0.5 mg tobacco and 65% for 1 mg tobacco. Present, the hole P is located in the region at the junction between the two segments T2, T3 (for example, 13 mm from the mouth end of the cigarette).
[0014]
The phenomena utilized by the cigarette described above are as follows.
When a smoker smokes a cigarette, a substantially constant pressure drop is applied to the entire inlet portion of the filter segment T3 located on the mouth side during the smoke extraction process.
This pressure drop is transmitted to the inlet part of the filter segment T2 in a deformed manner, and at the same time,
An annular aeration flow VA that decreases in strength when moving towards the central axis XX ′;
Producing a smoke stream VF produced by the burning of tobacco and passing through the filter segment T2.
[0015]
At the inlet portion of the filter segment T2, the smoke flow VF is collected in the central region of the filter T3 due to the fact that the pressure drop is not constant and becomes smaller from the center to the periphery due to the aeration air flow VA.
On the contrary, the strength of the ventilation flow VA transmitted in the annular region surrounding the smoke flow VF decreases from the peripheral portion toward the central axis XX ′.
[0016]
Actually, this aeration flow VA is transmitted in the annular flavoring region of the porous wrapping paper G1, and the scenting ability of the wrapping paper G1 decreases in the direction of the central axes X and X '.
Thus, the flavoring of the aeration air stream VA is optimal and the delivery of the stream VA is relatively important considering the aeration rate necessary to achieve the desired low tar level.
[0017]
Furthermore, the smoke stream VF passing through the segment T2 is relatively hot and flows through the central region of the segment T3 and hits a small portion of the porous wrapping paper G1 at best. The wrapping paper G1 (or the wrapping paper portion G′1 in the case of considering the configuration shown in FIG. 4) is ventilated constantly and is maintained at a substantially constant temperature (temperature of the surrounding air). The wrapping paper G1 does not suffer from a rise in temperature that causes premature evaporation of the flavoring object it contains, so that the flavoring of the gaseous mixture inhaled by the smoker takes some time. The hot smoke flow does not decrease rapidly as in the case where the hot smoke flow strikes the entire flavored porous wrapping paper G1, G′1.
[0018]
Furthermore, one of the features of this solution is that when the gaseous mixture enters the smoker's mouth, a path is formed in the smoke stream VF, which, to begin with, in the taste buds and nose. Encased in a scented air of airflow that comes into contact. Thus, the taste of the cigarette is substantially independent of the quality of the smoked tobacco (the taste and strength of the cigarette is provided substantially by the flavoring of the filter).
[0019]
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the filter length is 25 mm. In this case, the length of the high suction resistance filter segment T2 (comprising high-retention filtering member such as paper or filtering member sold by CREST (registered trademark) by Filtrona International Co., Ltd.) is 16 mm Yes, this is essential to obtain sufficient suction resistance (RTD). Next, the through hole P is located at a position sufficiently retracted from the mouth side end of the cigarette, and extends in the axial direction into the annular ventilation region V having a width of 6 mm. The ventilation region V partially extends above the filter segment T2 wound with the porous wrapping paper G3. The filter segment T3 is wound around the flavored porous wrapping paper G1.
[0020]
If the filter length is chosen to be 30 mm (Fig. 3), the through hole can be placed in contact with the low suction resistance (RTD) segment T3 and the wrapping paper G3 of the high suction resistance segment T2 is impervious. is there.
Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiments described above. It is therefore possible to use two flavored wrapping papers G1, G2 each injected with two sets of different flavoring mixtures. It should be noted that smokers' perception may be altered if the partial adsorption of the flavoring mixture to paper and acetate is different. Furthermore, it is also possible to put an adsorbent, such as activated charcoal, into the paper filter section, for example by spreading or adhering to the paper dough or during the production of the filtering segment.
[0021]
Similarly, according to the embodiment illustrated in FIG. 4, a 30 mm long filter has a high suction resistance segment T2 of 23 mm length on the tobacco side and a 7 mmk cellulose acetate segment T3 of length on the mouth side. The through-hole formed in the sleeve M1 extends over a length of approximately 6 mm, and within a region of approximately 6 mm in length located at the end of the segment T3 (at 13 mm from the mouth end) Located opposite to segment T2. In this embodiment, a relatively thin porous wrapping paper G′1 of the segment T2 is flavored. This wrapping paper G′1 extends below the ventilation region so that the ventilation airflow coming from the ventilation holes strikes for a length sufficient to scent the smoke.
[0022]
The wrapping paper G1 of the segment T1 is thick and strong and is not necessarily flavored. This paper G1 prevents the smoker's mouth from coming into direct contact with the wrapping paper G'1.
The length of the filter can also be different, for example 20 mm, and the ratio of the lengths of the two segments T2, T3 is kept substantially constant.
