Abstract
722,524. Compressors. GOSSE, P. Nov. 16, 1951. [Nov. 17, 1950] No. 26863/51. Class 8 (1). A gas or vapour compressor is cooled by water injected under pressure into its cylinder B through a plurality of capillary orifices supplied through a pipe G by a pump F driven by an electric motor Y, and pressure responsive means simultaneously control the intake valve X of the compressor and the pump F so that water is fed to the cylinder only when compression is taking place. The compressed mixture is discharged through a pipe I and cooler J into a separator K from which the gas is delivered to a receiver. M and the water passes into a tank C which supplies the pump through a double filter unit E. The .pressure in the receiver M acts on a regulator Q which, at a predetermined pressure, causes the inlet valve to be held open and simultaneously breaks the circuit feeding the motor Y.
