Abstract
257,081. Bissell, S. July 29,1925. Lids and covers.-A dust bin intended for cleaning mops &c. comprises a framework, Fig. 1, fitting removably within an outer casing, Fig. 3. At the base of a hopper a at the top of the framework are mounted hinged lids b adapted to be brought into the open position by the action of suitable linkwork when pressure is exerted on the spring-controlled pedal e, the parts returning to normal position on the pressure being released. The lids have parts cut away to form an aperture h for the reception of a mop handle, so that the bin is effectively closed during the operation of cleaning the mop. Spring-actuated slides s normally maintain the aperture closed. The lower part of the framework contains a sieve or grid f and a drawer or dust-pan g for the reception of the fluff &c.
