Abstract

1076. Lind, A. L. Jan. 15. Switches combined with electric-light fittings. Electric switches for light fittings of the type which are enclosed in hinged air-tight covers are enclosed in a casing attached to the fitting and so arranged that the cover of the light can only be opened when the switch is in the off ' position. The switch 1 is mounted in an extension of the light casing, which is covered by a plate 7 screwed thereto and provided with a slot 14. An extension 6 of the hinged cover carries a handle 9, the lower part of which engages the switch and carries a cross-piece 10 which will only pass through the slot 14 when the switch is in the ' off ' position, thus preventing access to the lamp or switch when the switch is in the ' on ' position.
