Abstract
1325574 Vehicle suspension levelling systems V LANGEN [trading as LANGEN & CO] 5 Nov 1970 52724/70 Heading B7D In a vehicle suspension levelling system having hydropneumatic suspension units 2 each connected to a levelling valve 11 through a pilotcontrolled non-return valve 15 which isolates the unit when the pressure in a fluid supply line P, from a pump 13 is insufficient, one or more switches are arranged to be actuated when passengers enter the vehicle to start a time switch 17 which permits level adjustment for a predetermined period of time and then interrupts the supply of pressure fluid. As shown the time switch 17 is started by a switch 18 when a door closes and energizes a motor 16 which drives the pump 13. A switch 20 prevents operation of the time switch 17 unless the ignition is switched on, and a manually operable switch 19 is provided in parallel with the switch 18. In another embodiment the time switch controls a solenoid valve which diverts the pump output to another point of utilization at the end of the predetermined period.
