Abstract
The said industrial design consists of the shape, configuration and ornamentation of a generally symmetrical roof for an automobile having a longitudinally extending central portion and a pair of laterally extending sections extending outwardly from either side of the central portion; the laterally extending sections have generally flat inner surfaces and scalloped areas extending along opposite edges of the flat inner surface; the scalloped areas merge through rounded corners into slightly upwardly diverging sides of the laterally extending sections; the diverging sides of the laterally extending sections merge through rounded corners into the sides of the longitudinally extending central portion;the longitudinally extending central portion has a generally flat inner surface situated below the generally flat inner surfaces of the laterally extending sections; the rear end of the generally flat inner surface of the central portion tapers upwards through a flat area to the upper surface of the roof; the central portion has scalloped depressions extending along the sides of the generally flat inner surface with a first pair of elongated slotted opening areas situated adjacent the front end of the longitudinally-extending central portion and a second pair of slotted opening areas situated immediately to the rear of the laterally extending sections;the generally flat inner surface of the longitudinally-extending central portion has a first raised area situated between the second pair of slotted opening areas; the first raised area has generally flat side surfaces and sloped end surfaces which merge into the generally flat inner surface; a curved depression extends between the inner ends of the sloped end surfaces; the rear sloped surface of the first raised area has a pair of spaced-apart circular depressions therein with domed protuberances within the circular depressions; the curved depression of the first raised area has spaced-apart adjacent generally identical rectangular areas situated close to the forward edge of the curved depression; the generally flat inner surface of the longitudinally-extending central portion has a second raised area situated between the first pair of slotted opening areas; the second raised area has generally flat sides, a sloped rear end surface which merges into the flat inner surface, and a sloped front surface which extends forwardly from the end of the longitudinally-extending central portion and merges into the top rear of a laterally extending housing; a curved depression extends between the sloped end surfaces of the second raised area; the rear sloped surface of the second raised area has a pair of spaced-apart circular depressions therein with domed protuberances within the circular depressions; the curved depression of the second raised area has two pairs of spaced-apart adjacent generally identical rectangular areas situated thereon;the laterally extending housing has a top surface, a bottom surface, a front surface, and downwardly diverging side surfaces which flare outwards away from the front surface thereof;the outer surface of the roof is smoothly curved from front to rear and is smoothly curved from side across the laterally extending sections and the longitudinally-extending central portion.Representations of the design are shown in the figures wherein:Fig. 1 is a perspective view from the rear side of a roof for an automobile; Fig. 2 is a perspective view from the front side thereof;Fig. 3 is a front elevation view thereof;Fig. 4 is a rear elevation view thereof;Fig. 5 is a top plan view thereof;Fig. 6 is a bottom plan thereof;Fig. 7 is a left side elevation view thereof; andFig. 8 is a right side elevation view thereof.Diagrams of the design are included.
