Wor Games

Play either single player (with CPU team mate) or 2 player co-op.

This game is inspired by the 1981 Midway arcade game Wizard of Wor and the fantastic 1984 version for the commodore 64.

I have fond memories of playing this game with my dad in the 1980s. He's now 85 at the time of release!

This is for you, dad xxx

Story

Death-matches between prisoners and monsters are fought in ever more difficult arenas known as dungeons.

Some monsters only become visible in the same hallway as a player but can be tracked on the radar.

The dungeon master, known as the Wizard of Wor may appear to seek revenge if you kill his pet worluk.

Dear Paul,

I hope you’re doing well! My name is Ren, and I’m reaching out from Banzan Studios, the team behind SnackR—an exciting new platform that combines the best of TikTok, YouTube, and Patreon, specifically designed for creators like you.

We’ve been following your work, and we’re particularly impressed by your project, "Wor Games" The creativity behind it caught our attention, and we believe it would resonate well with our growing audience on SnackR.

SnackR is an all-in-one platform where creators can share games, animations, and comics, and engage with a dedicated mobile-first audience. This is built by a team of folks who have been creators themselves and have faced the same problems that young creators like you do. Each feature and functionality is built while keeping the ‘Creator’ in mind. We're focused on giving creators control over their content and its reach, and we'd love for you to be part of this journey.

While "Wor Games" truly stood out to us, you’re not limited to submitting just that—we’d be thrilled to explore any other game or project you think might be a great fit for SnackR as well.

If you're interested in learning more about how SnackR could benefit you and help you reach new audiences, I’d love to discuss this further. Please let me know if you’re available for a quick chat. Feel free to check us out in the meantime: Website: https://banzan.co/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/banzanstudios/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/banzanstudios/

This game is so cool!  Captures the look and feel of a classic retro.  Is it my eyes, or is there an occasional "snow" effect in the background?

green flickering stars is probably what you’re seeing

awesome game, I remember loving and hating this game back in  the  early 80s  on  my  atari 5200. Thank   you    for  bringing  those  memories  back!

In the early 80s, my Wizard of Wor manual promised if I sent a photo where I exceeded some minimum score, they would send me a t-shirt.  One day I did beat it!!  I had my mom take a photo of my black and white TV, eventually it was developed, and sent away in the mail.

And I never heard back.

I now hold you responsible for my T-shirt.  Where is it??  When is it arriving??

Haha, I would LOVE a Wizard of Wor teeshirt too!

This one looks pretty nice!

Awesome game, man.

Love how you've captured the feel of the original (like how it always *starts out* as co-op...), but also mixed it up with new elements that keep it interesting.

Really dope recreation of WoW, and plays almost exactly the same too, except with better controls and less unforgiving.

I HAVE WAITED EONS FOR THIS, THANK YOU

Even without the nostalgia of having played the original as a kid, this has a lot of charm. There are a lot of really nice little touches that make it shine.

very good

Like you, me and my Dad played this tons on our Atari 400 when I was a kid. Wasn't exactly a relaxing play back then and glad to see your homage has the same feel.
