Daniel Jones likely to play vs. Texans in first Giants game since torn ACL

Daniel Jones likely will play in a game Saturday for the first time since he tore his ACL last November, Brian Daboll said Sunday.

That means that the Giants also will have their starting offensive line and receivers on the field against the Texans, too.

The Giants will wait on making a decision on Drew Lock’s availability until later in the week. Daboll expects Lock (oblique strain/hip pointer) to miss at least three practices.

Jones has taken all the first-team snaps during training camp but did not play in the preseason opener, when Lock took a big hit and was injured.

Jones said last week that he wanted to play in the preseason.

Either way, the bulk of the game probably will belong to third-string quarterback Tommy DeVito.
