Parody video dubs Obama singing ‘Respect’ over Trump insults

A new video shows Obama paying R-E-S-P-E-C-T to Trump.

A parody clip showing the former president singing Aretha Franklin’s “Respect” to his successor is making the rounds on social media.

The Franklin quote, “We all require and want respect, man or woman, black or white. It’s our basic human right,” appears at the beginning of the video, posted Saturday by the YouTube channel baracksdubs.

It then rolls a series of controversial Trump moments — including when former Mexican President Vicente Fox told CNN that Mexico is, “not going to pay for that f**king wall.”

The video-maker reminded viewers of Trump’s penchant for nicknames. One clip reads “Little Rocket with a photo of Kim Jong Un. Another of Senator Ted Cruz is accompanied by a screenshot of Trump’s infamous “Lyin’ Ted” tweet.

The video’s creators said they started working on the mashup months ago. Franklin passed away at age 76 on Thursday from pancreatic cancer.

“I never would have expected to release this dub, which I started on months ago, under these circumstances, but I hope you and everyone who loves the Queen of Soul enjoys this video,” baracksdubs wrote in a statement posted to their YouTube channel. “We love you back, Aretha.”
