All-clear at Republic Airport after bomb scare shutdown

Authorities gave the “all clear” at Republic Airport on Long Island following a bomb scare Wednesday, officials said.

The Suffolk County Bomb Squad was dispatched after an anonymous caller made threat directed at the Federal Aviation Administration office in the East Farmingdale airport, law enforcement sources said.

The 12:15 p.m. call came to the FAA’s Garden City office, threatening the East Farmingdale office, sources said.

Police searched the building and gave the “all clear” after nothing was found, the Suffolk County Police Department said.

“Airport operations continued throughout entire incident,” the police department said.

Republic Airport supports recreational and business flying, but not commercial flights.
