The rare ice storm, also known as white death, was pictured by Kornl Kollth, a meteorologist at the Hungarian Meteorological Service (MOSZ), in the forested mountains of Pills, Hungary. An ice storm, usually only found in extremely harsh climates, such as Alaska, is created when the water in low clouds rapidly drops below freezing point, blanketing everything that comes into its path in a thick layer of ice.
