Softball roundup: Jimenez, Environmental upset Stuy

Jocelyn Jimenez gave Stuyvesant fits – and not just with her arm, but her bat, too.

The Environmental Studies junior gave up just two earned runs on eight hits in seven innings and went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and a run scored at the plate to lead the Eagles to a 13-4 win against Stuyvesant in PSAL Manhattan A softball Monday.

Destini Torres went 1-for-2 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs and Chasity Velez went 1-for-4 with two RBIs for Environmental Studies (2-2). Morgan Higgins went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored for Stuyvesant (3-2).

Susan Wagner 8, New Dorp 6: Danielle Locke went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored and Dayna Williams went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run for Wagner (4-1 Staten Island A). Ashlee Cavitolo went 2-for-3 with three RBIs for New Dorp (2-3).

James Madison 10, Grand Street Campus 0: Gina Gerone went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored and Samantha Rodriguez was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run for Madison (3-0 Brooklyn A). Kayla Hill pitched a five-inning no-hitter and struck out six. GSC is 2-2.

Bushwick 13, Lincoln 3: Jennifer Del Rosario have up no earned runs on one hit and struck out six in five innings for Bushwick (3-1 Brookyln A). Ariel Nunez went 1-for-1 with three RBIs and a run scored and Kassandra Steward went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs. Lincoln is 0-5.

Manhattan Center 10, George Washington 7: Christine Roundtree went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored and Edrianny Rodriguez and Yen Pham each drove in two runs for Manhattan Center (2-3 Manhattan A). GW is 2-3.

Newtown 9, Stevenson 6: Jessica Tineo went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored and Katherine Torres drove in two runs for Newtown (3-1 Queens A-II). Karissa Core went 3-for-3 with two RBIs for Stevenson (1-3 Bronx A).

CHSAA

Moore Catholic 13, St. Peter’s 1: Alex Aliberti, Danielle Doscher and Dominique DeMatteo, Courtney Strype, and Gina Palmeri all drove in runs for Moore Catholic, which had an eight-run third inning in CHSAA Staten Island. Palmeri allowed three hits and struck out six over five innings for the Mavericks (3-0). St. Peter’s, playing without ace Jamie O’Hare, is 0-4. The Eagles walked 13 batters.

St. Saviour 25, Bishop Loughlin 3: Nicole Juliano went 3-for-5 with five RBIs and Emily Bowen went 4-for-5 with four RBIs for St. Saviour (1-0) in CHSAA Brooklyn/Queens Class B. Alyson Caiazzo threw all five innings and gave up three hits and three runs. Loughlin is 0-1.

PSAL CLASS B

Telecom 22, South Shore 2: Cristina Morales went 3-for-3 with seven RBIs and two runs scored for Telecom (6-0 Brooklyn B-I). South Shore is 3-3.

FDA 6, Martin Luther King 2: Ariel McKayle gave up one earned run on six hits and struck out 15 in seven innings to lead FDA (3-0 Manhattan B-III). MLK is 3-1.

InTech 15, Bronx Leadership 3: Jessenia German, Xiomara German and Yariel Acevedo all drove in three runs for InTech (4-0 Bronx B-II). Bronx Leadership is 1-2.

American Studies @ Lehman 16, Columbus 9: Samantha Harrold went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs scored for American Studies (5-0 Bronx B-II). Columbus is 4-2.

Jamaica 15, John Adams 12: Sheila Conde went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored for Jamaica (4-0 Queens B-III). Adams is 2-2.

Frank Sinatra 16, Queens Vocational 8: April Uhl went 4-for-5 with five RBIs and a run scored for Sinatra (4-0 Queens B-II). Queens Vo is 3-2.
