ISRAELI SCORES ACE VS. DUBAI

The United Arab Emirates bowed to international pressure and agreed to give a visa to Israeli tennis star Andy Ram to play in Dubai, the state news agency said yesterday.

Ram, ranked seventh in the world in doubles, will get “special permission” to take part in the Dubai Championship, a Foreign Ministry official was quoted as saying.

The Association of Tennis Professionals had hinted the Dubai tournament would be bounced off the world tennis tour if Ram, like Israeli women’s tennis star Shahar Peer, was denied a visa to play in the $2 million tournament.
