*The W was the place to be Thursday after the Vera Wang show in SoHo, but we mean the subway line, not the hotel or the lounge. The train was full of marquee editors, including those from the New York Times and Vogue. Looks like Uncle Si wasn’t kidding about cutting expenses!
*Rachel Bilson passed the morning in the W Hotels Lounge yesterday, with guests sneaking glances at her ring finger. Alas, either Hayden Christensen hasn’t actually gotten around to presenting a ring yet – or Rachel just forget it at home amidst all the Fashion Week excitement.
*Poor BlackBook magazine. Not only has it been scaled back to eight issues a year, but now, models are spitting out its cocktails. Jessica Hart, who was in the running with Bar Rafaeli for this year’s SI swimsuit issue cover, dropped $54 on a round of drinks at a BlackBook fete at Gold Bar Wednesday night because, like most of the partygoers at the bash, she found the free “Black and Gold” cocktail undrinkable. “The party I hosted in Vegas on Saturday night had a great open bar,” the Australian told Buzz. “These drinks are crap!” Gold Bar shares the blame, as the sickly sweet syrup drink, garnished with “gold flakes” that tasted like chalk, was created by its own resident mixologist Remi Shobitan. *Custo Barcelona’s front row was a dog – literally. Aubrey O’Day was caught trying to keep her drama queen pink-dyed pup’s loud barking under control. Maybe it’s dyed pink to match her pink Blackberry, which it was holding between its paws during the neltdown.
*Taylor Momsen continues to duke it out with “Gossip Girl” producers over her desire to have Jenny Humphrey wear the same Goth black eyeliner Momsen herself prefers. So it was no surprise that when asked to pose with a pink or yellow MCM handbag, she declined and asked for a black one. While waiting for the right color, she traded makeup tips with Semi Precious Weapons frontman Justin Tranter, who also favors the thick-black-eyeliner look.
*Club kid turned designer Richie Rich is “the second sexiest woman in the world” according to Pamela Anderson at an after-party at Cain Luxe. Rich then threatened, we mean promised, to design a T-shirt with the, um, luscious Pamela pictured naked on front. Give us a mental sorbet, stat!
*They don’t call them celebrity wranglers for nothing. Surprise Fashion Week staple Kanye West paused outside the W Hotels Lounge to chat with seductive staffers about how he stayed at the W in LA while recuperating from jaw surgery a few years back. He happily accepted their offer to come in for a drink, but his handlers weren’t having any of it, and they wouldn’t let him go in.
*Most fashion designers are content to leave the wardrobe malfunctions to their models. But for uber-hip downtown designer Erin Wasson, the nip slip is intentional. Why else would she project a video of herself modeling her own clothes on the wall of her presentation show Wednesday night? *Tommy Hilfiger may have a hot new wife, but he was still dateless on Valentine’s Day. “We were on opposite sides of the world that night,” he said after his show yesterday, squeezing ex-supermodel Dee Ocleppo’s hand. Backstage, Natasha Bedingfield told a photographer she was headed to Cabo that very night for a little vacay with Chelsea Handler (a k a E!’s “Chelsea Lately”).
