RUFF LIFE

To Marina Batkis of Mutts & Moms Animal Rescue Group: Being an animal rescuer myself, I thought the goal of our rescue efforts was to find these animals safe, loving homes with families that will take care of them (“Agency Barks Back at Ellen,” Oct. 17).

It is a crime that you took this dog out of a kind environment only to place it back in a cage in your shelter to await a new home, which may take weeks, months or years. Maybe it will never be adopted again.

You should look past the fact that Ellen DeGeneres is a celebrity and concentrate on the fact that she was genuinely concerned for the welfare of this dog.

Shame on you for your bad judgment in this sad situation. Sometimes you must make an exception in life when it is the right thing to do.
