STARR REPORT

NBC’s Monday-night “repurposing” of “Project Runway,” which regularly airs on sister (cable) network Bravo, has been a moderate success, if the raw numbers are indicative.

“Runway’s” third season premiered July 12 on Bravo, snaring 2.4 million viewers. That translated into 3.6 million viewers when NBC re-aired the episode July 17.

The second episode of “Runway” averaged 2.6 million viewers July 19 on Bravo; that, in turn, morphed into 3.7 million viewers this past Monday on NBC.

Disney Channel, meanwhile, had its mostwatched week ever (in total day) last week in viewers (1.9 million) and key demos, thanks in part to its movie “Read It and Weep” and “Hannah Montana” (Miley Cyrus).

Carolines on Broadway takes its show on the road, literally, to The John Drew Theater at Guild Hall (158 Main St., East Hampton) for shows featuring Bill Burr (Aug. 4), John Pinette (Aug. 5) and Richard Jeni (Aug. 6).

Speaking of the name “Burr,” the first season of “Perry Mason,” starring the late Raymond Burr, was released on DVD July 11 and is doing well. It was ranked 19th on amazon.com yesterday – while the third-season DVD of “Chappelle’s Show,” released yesterday, was ranked 17th on amazon.com.
