WE’VE GOT GAME

FANTASTIC 4

Format: Xbox, PS2, GameCube, Game Boy Advance

Multiplayer: Yes

Rated: Teen (violence, mild language)

What’s it about: Featuring the voices of the bigscreen cast, the game goes beyond the movie with an original story that has you playing as all the members of the Fantastic Four – Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Girl, the Human Torch and the Thing. You’ll battle new enemies and solve puzzles in your quest to defeat Doctor Doom and save the human race from disaster.

What we like: In certain scenarios, you can switch from one Fantastic to another, to take advantage of each one’s strengths. The Arena Fights are fun, too: Defeat as many enemies as you can to unlock bonuses.

What we don’t: The button-mashing (hit enough buttons at once and you’ll kill an enemy). It’s fun at first, but after about 10 minutes of the very linear game play, your thumbs will throb.

Best for: Fans of the comic.

Hard-core gamers say: “If you’re really into the movie or the comic and can look past drab environments and controls that aren’t as crisp as they should be, then Fantastic 4 might be worth a rent, but not much more.” – gamespot.com

We give it: ** (Two stars)
