PISTOLS SHOT DOWN

JACKSON Browne and the Dells will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year – but the Sex Pistols were left out on the street again.

The additional 2004 inductees will be the late George Harrison, ZZ Top, Bob Seger, Prince and Traffic.

Other eligible performers who still haven’t been recognized include Black Sabbath, Patti Smith, the MC5, Kraftwerk, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Gram Parsons, the Chantels and the “5” Royales.

Artists become eligible 25 years after the release of their first record. Each year, a committee of rock and roll historians selects nominees. A ballot is then sent to an international group of about 700 rock experts, who vote on the finalists.

The 19th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony will held in New York at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel on March 15.
