BEHIND MACHO MEN’S BEER BRAWL

Beer that spilled on some women at a charity boxing match to benefit the widows and children of cops and firefighters led to frayed tempers and brief skirmishes in the stands, sources said.

But there were no injuries or arrests, the sources said.

The outbursts occurred Friday night in the second-floor balcony of the Hammerstein Ballroom on West 34th Street, where the “Toughman 911” amateur boxing event was being staged between NYPD and FDNY pugilists.

“It was an unfortunate incident, but not extraordinarily unusual at any public event,” insisted John Solberg, a spokesman for FX Cable, which staged and helped fund the charity event.

The evening’s festivities ended in a 6-6 draw between those fighting for the cops and firefighters, but a final tie-breaking event – between the best fighter for each organization – led to an NYPD win.

As a result, the PBA widows and children’s fund will get $37,000 and two charities run by the Uniformed Firefighters Association will get $31,000.

Additionally, FX Cable Network will donate $10,000 to the New York Post Heroes Fund, to benefit the families of the three firefighters who died on Father’s Day battling a Queens blaze.

FX is owned by News Corp., which also owns The Post.
