I'm a 19 year old from Melbourne, my birthday is August 12, I'm an artist, I'm obsessed with Waluigi, and if it wasn't
obvious, I'm really autistic.
Waluigi is my #1 special interest, and I'm very, very dedicated!
I'm interested in a lot of different things though.
Believe it or not, Waluigi isn't the only thing in my brain.
I love creating things, playing video games, listening to music, collecting plushies, going out for daily walks and of course, web
development!
(Why else would I have made this site myself?)
I'm a multi media artist, I work in a lot of different mediums and types of art.
My main focus is making digital illustrations and 3D models and art, but I've dabbled in many, many different types of
work.
I think it's most fun to spice up my work by trying lots of different styles and methods of making things!
Tired of the social media hamster wheel and looking for somewhere new, fun and creative I happened to find out about Neocities in 2022. I'm not sure how, I don't remember how, admittedly. But it brought back a sense of wonder within me, I loved looking at all the wonderfully unique and creative sites people have made, and felt reminiscent of a time when the internet was a much more creative, open place.
I'd been eyeing out whether it was a good idea or not for about six months after I learnt about Neocities, and during that time planned what I could put on my site, polished up my HTML skills from when I was 10 and got to work.
After watching the current internet space explode even further, I felt it'd be best to finally make the move, and thus... in May of 2023, this site was born!
I try to update this site as best as I can, whenever I'm able to, and I also want to be able to share my passion, love and creativity with the world, and what better way to do that than with a handcrafted website?
Modding is my main creative hobby besides just making models and artwork for fun. I absolutely love the idea of editing a game to your own liking, be it to fix issues yourself or to greatly enhance the experience and personalise it to your own liking.
My favourite thing about modding is trying to make works that fit in with the rest of the games style, and
trying to capture the aesthetic and official look for that title.
It adds a lot of challenge and forces me to really look at and study the art of the games I mod, which really makes me appreciate them a lot more!
Sewing isn't something I'm super good at quite yet, but goodness if it isn't fun!
I primarily use my sewing skills to make cuddly little plushies!
I only know hand sewing for the time being but in future I plan on buying an affordable little sewing machine to learn with.
Sewing makes for a wonderful creative skill, but also an extremely handy one at that. I can fix whatever I want whenever I need to, saving me quite a bit on wasting clothing and money!
I love how rhythmic sewing is, repetitive tasks are oddly really fun and therapeutic to do, and watching something come together slowly but surely is such a satisfying feeling. In future I might also try to learn other crafts, such as knitting and crochet! (My ma knows how to do those!)
Writing is something I find really fun, and I enjoy doing it in all sorts of different ways... I think you might be able to tell that's the case considering how wordy my site is, lol. I enjoy writing in the sense of creating stories, as a way of getting them out of my head, but also making articles and discussing my opinions and thoughts on what's happening in the internet space and on things I care about.
I find I'm not very good at expressing my thoughts and feelings in person, so I've practised doing so on a page instead to compensate, and while my writing skills aren't 100% perfect, I do hope what I make is at least enjoyable to read and an interesting view point to explore.
Music is a big part of my life, and I mean it.
Music is on 24/7 in my life, constantly, I'm always listening to it. It helps a lot in getting things done and keeping my mood stable when shit hits the fan. My favourite music genres are Drum and Bass, Hardcore and House.
The kinds of music I listen to depends on my mood, if I'm feeling like I need to be pumped up and hyped up, Hardcore and Gabber will do that, am I full of energy and need to let it all out? That's what Breakcore is for! It all helps, and it also gives me a lot of inspiration, because like any normal autistic artist, I often start imagining scenarios and little animations that go along to the music, it's a good source of ideas!
Programming is my most recent hobby I've gotten into, I've always been fascinated with technology and developing games and programs ever since I was a little kid, but I've never been able to quite wrap my head around the concepts until recently. I'm still not very good at it, but whenever I can I try to construct things myself, especially for this website. The various JavaScript functions and games I've made here have been good practice for that!
Other programming languages I've experimented with are C, C++, Python and PHP. All ones that I'd very much like to explore much further as well.
What will I do with all this programming knowledge? I'm not sure, something obvious would be to get into game development, a childhood dream of mine. I've experimented lots with Godot and Renpy in the past and they're lots of fun to use!
Something else I also think would be good would be to try and develop tools and utilities, especially in regards to my line of work, modding tools would be especially great, but that is for a future day, since that's quite a complicated subject.
Video games are my favourite form of media, they're the thing I consume most compared to film, television and books. I primarily play games on my PC, but I do have a few Nintendo consoles! Most notably is a Nintendo 64, Switch and Wii U!
Why do I like video games so much?
I often find with films and TV it's hard for me to concentrate And focus on them without any direct action, I find them a little uninteresting when all you can do is watch. I love the direct influence you have with a video game.
With books, though I really love to read, a lot of times when I pick up a book, it's really challenging to find one that really clicks with me in the first few pages.
Whether it's the writing style or the pacing, a lot of them don't quite capture me it feels. A shame, because I really do love reading. It's just hard to find what's right for me.
